Rosaleen McElvaney is a clinical psychologist who has worked in Ireland's public health services for many years, concentrating on the sexual abuse of children and adults. She has served on the Boards of Crime Victims Helpline, the National Board for Safeguarding Children in the Catholic Church in Ireland, One in Four, the charity supporting adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse and is the former president of the Psychological Society of Ireland. Dr. McElvaney's research encompasses child sexual abuse disclosures, integrative psychotherapy, primary school counseling, and the mental health needs of children in care. She has a particular interest in professional training and has contributed to training programs for clinical psychologists, counseling psychologists, social care workers and psychotherapists.
